GH Wins Contract for Westmill Foods’ New Range of Authentic Chinese
Cuisine
Boxes
GH, major producer of high quality printed folding cartons and one of
seven specialist companies in The Boxes Group, has won its first order
from Westmill Foods Ltd – part of Associated British Foods plc.
Based
in Blackburn, Boxes GH is producing cartons in five innovative designs
for the launch of Westmill Foods’ new Lee Kum Kee range of Chinese
traditional egg noodles, endorsed by celebrity chef Ken Hom.
These also include a range of noodles with Lee Kum Kee sauces
– Sweet and Spicy, Oyster Ginger and Garlic and Sichuan Spicy.
The
carton design incorporates six colours, with emulsion varnish, on
white lined folding box board. The design company, Ward Hayes Partnership, of Woburn, worked
closely with Boxes GH to create a special background colour for the
packaging to achieve consistency across the brand.
Westmill
Foods is clear brand leader in high quality noodles for the Chinese
restaurant and take away market in the UK.
The Company has five factories and its headquarters are in
Bishops Stortford.
Marketing
Director of Westmill Foods, David Reay, said:
“We chose Boxes GH to produce our new cartons because the
company is able to manage the whole project from conception to
completion through the resources of The Boxes Group.
We are impressed especially with the technical ability of Boxes
Imaging – the reprographics arm of the Group and the extremely fast
turnaround achieved by Boxes GH; the whole project being completed in
only three weeks.”
Boxes
GH Business Development Manager, Chris Fuller, added:
“We already work with ABF and are now looking forward to
developing further business with Westmill Foods following the
successful completion of this first project.”
Boxes
GH maintains its leading position in the industry through a corporate
commitment to outstanding customer service and a continuous investment
programme in the latest technology and state of the art printing
presses. More than £3.5m
has been invested in a number of areas of the business.
The
company houses the latest high speed Roland 906 printing press – the
first one of its kind commercially available in the UK and its own
laser cutting and die-making facility, both of which improve lead
times for customers by shortening the production cycle.
As
well as a wide range of printing and finishing processes, a further
key strength is the company’s technical expertise.
The GH design team offers customers creative and practical
solutions to producing imaginative cartons that will perform well on
high speed packaging lines.
