Ditone
Labels Adds to Continuing Success of TCP with Innovative Peel &
Reveal Technology
Peel
& Reveal label technology developed by The Boxes Group labels
division, Ditone Labels, has gained a major contract for the Company
with Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, as part of a new 21st century-look
for the TCP Liquid Antiseptic range.
Following trials, Ditone Labels’ technology was selected by Pfizer
Consumer Healthcare for the outstanding performance of its three page
Peel & Reveal design. The label also allows Pfizer to carry more
information within a limited space.
The labels are produced to Pharmaceutical Code of Practice Standard
and are sequentially numbered to ensure control of the product through
the production process.
Ditone Labels Managing Director, David Stevenson, said: “This is a
major contract win for us and underlines our expanding niche expertise
in the UK pharmaceutical labels business. Ditone’s Peel & Reveal
technology has many advantages including the fact that it is
attractive to consumers. The pages open really easily and there is no
unpleasant stickiness left on the fingertips because we have developed
a dry adhesive finish for the labels. We also helped translate the
design to press by producing much of the artwork for the four sizes in
the TCP range in our own studio.
“Since the success of this first work with Pfizer, we have gained
more business with the Company’s other lines.”
The redesign of the TCP Liquid Antiseptic range also incorporates new
shape bottles and tamper-evident caps for the £6.5m brand.
Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Marketing Manager, Barbara Hodgson, added:
“TCP has been a tried and trusted family favourite for over 80
years. The new packaging brings the brand into the 21st century while
at the same time maintaining its traditional values. For pharmacists,
the new design offers higher brand visibility as well as increased
stability on shelf which ultimately makes for easier stockholding and
boosts to sales. More TCP is being sold than ever before and the new
Peel & Reveal label produced by Ditone Labels is assisting this
success. The label has a contemporary look, is more consumer friendly,
clearer to read and we have been able to fit more information into a
small space. “
Ditone Labels, situated in Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire, is part of
specialist packaging company The Boxes Group and recently invested £2.4m
in purpose-built premises, a design studio, and a new press including
leaflet facilities. The Company has been awarded the Pharmaceutical
Supplier Code of Practice for non contact packaging. This eliminates
the possibility of cross contamination of printed materials and
ensures good manufacturing practice in a hygienic environment. Ditone
Labels also holds the quality assurance licence ISO 9001.
