Extensia Streamlines Packaging for
Rhodia
Ditone - one of the few UK companies with the highest
international standard for packaging pharmaceutical materials - is
helping Rhodia, a global manufacturer of speciality chemicals, to
streamline its supply chain by using Extensia multi page leaflet
labels.
The
Extensia leaflet label has reduced significantly the number of
components used to packaging Rhodia’s inhalation anaesthetics for
veterinary and human use which are exported all over the world.
Rhodia
Purchasing Manager, Packaging, Bob Crowte said: “Choosing Extensia
gave us a great opportunity to streamline all our packaging and reduce
variants in print. The decision has saved us money and simplified the
whole supply chain. Using Extensia means we have eliminated the need
for the carton, the direction sheet inside the packaging and carton
label.”
The
Extensia multi page leaflet label was chosen against competitor brands
because of its protective overlaminate, cost-effectiveness and re-sealability.
It also incorporates Ditone’s patented ‘quick release’ opening which
means that the label can be peeled and resealed easily.
Ditone MD,
David Stevenson, added: “Extensia is a truly adaptable product
providing extra space through its folded leaflet design to advertise
ranges, give instructions or enable printing of multiple languages.
Our ‘quick release’ multi reseal mechanism ensures the label can be
resealed over and over again.”
Extensia
is part of a range of products which includes the Extensia Neck Label
with an integrated detachable leaflet. As with all the Extensia
family, it can be printed in full colour throughout and is also ideal
for tear-out vouchers. Extensia is being used on two product sizes of
Rhodia¹s inhalation anaesthetics, the 100ml and 250ml bottles.
Rhodia
provides a wide range of innovative products and services to the
consumer care, food, industrial care, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals,
automotive, electronics and fibres markets. Customers are offered
tailor-made solutions based on the cross-fertilisation of
technologies, people and expertise. The organisation generated net
sales of £5.5 billion in 2003 and employs approximately 20,000 people
worldwide.

installed the Gallus RCS - the world's most advanced narrow web press
and the first of its kind in the UK as part of the Company's £2.5
million investment programme. Ditone offers an exceptional range of
products that include Peel & Reveal labels, Crystal labels and the
patented Tac-Tag range. The Company is part of the expanding Boxes
