The Boxes Group Lights Up Famous Candle Company's New Millennium
Collection
Two divisions of The Boxes Group, have won national confirmation they have the brightest
ideas in the UK packaging industry after securing, against major competition, new business
with the country's leading candle manufacturer.
Boxes GH, specialist carton manufacturer to the FMCG markets and Boxes Imaging, the
reprographics arm of the Group, are producing innovative new packaging for Pricešs
exclusive new candle collections for 2000.
The Divisions have colour-separated and manufactured 28 cartons for Perfect Scents and
Waxworks - a collection of perfumed and coloured wax candles and candle types including
new fragrances such as honeydew melon and coconut ice, peach, lemon and apple fragrances.
Price's Purchasing Manager, John Mansbridge, said: 'We have had a long business
relationship with Boxes GH which have provided us with excellent service over many years..
What impressed us especially about this contract was the flexibility and expertise
displayed at the early technical meetings and how the project managers brought together so
professionally the whole concept of our products' presentation by fully expoliting the
superb graphics which were produced by our in-house design team.'
Boxes GH Business Development Manager, Chris Fuller, who steered the new contract to
completion, said: 'Pricešs wanted a contemporary and innovative design and was
impressed by the Group's ability to manage the whole project from liaising with Price's at
the artwork stage, through to delivery in house. The order was secured against fierce
competition and we won thanks to a combination of our technical and reprographics
expertise.'
The cartons were mostly printed using six colours and a high gloss UV varnish on
recyclable carton board.
Price's is a Royal Warrant holder and has been candlemaking for 170 years, manufacturing
and marketing some 65 million candles a year. Established in 1830, the company head office
is still at its original location in Battersea.
