Ditone
Labels Marks Major Expansion for Business in the 21st
Century
The
installation of world-class plate making technology by Dupont at
Ditone Labels was celebrated on Friday December 8 when the
Cambridgeshire company’s position as one of Europe’s foremost
label manufacturers was officially recognised.
Ditone
is the sole UK company and one of only three worldwide, to acquire the
new system which increases processing speeds by 50 per cent and
improves print quality even further.
The environmentally friendly equipment does not use solvents.
Ditone has also installed a new uniquely specified nine colour
Gallus press which enables the Company to expand its programme of
label innovation.
Ditone
has recently brought out a whole new range of label products. These
include holographic finish, crystal labels, multi-page leaflet labels,
credit card labels and Braille and moon printing to assist the
visually impaired.
Chief
guest at Ditone’s first Open Day, to mark a second tranche of
expansion at the Company’s plant in Kimbolton, was the Rt Hon John
Major, CH MP for Huntingdon.
Mr Major opened Ditone Labels’ purpose-built premises just
over two years ago.
Managing
Director, David Stevenson, told guests:
“We are immensely proud of this latest expansion drive at
Ditone which is a significant part of our commitment to continuous
investment for improved service and an even wider product range.
We feel privileged to have been invited to work with Dupont on
the development of this world-class plate making system and are
delighted Mr Major has been able to make a return visit to mark our
great success.
Ditone has seen its business expand by over a third since
moving to Kimbolton and is anticipating a further 30 per cent growth
over the next year.
A large part of this will be generated by progressing our
advanced labels technology.”
After
officially launching the Company’s new website, Mr Major viewed
Ditone’s innovative new products and toured the factory.
Other chief guests included Norbert McDermott, Chief Executive
Officer of parent company Clondalkin, the printing and packaging
products specialist.
Around 50 Ditone customers from leading packaging companies and
members of the Institute of Packaging attended the event.
The launch of the website also raised hundreds of pounds for
the NSPCC Full Stop Appeal as Ditone Labels donated a sum for each
customer registering.
A collection was taken at the event.
Ditone Labels is part of the £35m turnover Boxes Group
consisting of seven product presentation companies.
