New Appointment Further
Increases Niche Packaging Business at Boxes Edson
Boxes
Edson, the expanding healthcare and pharmaceutical packaging arm of
The Boxes Group, is exploring new market opportunities with the
appointment of Martin Street as UK Business Development Manager.
As part of its strategic growth plan, the Watford-based division will
be focusing on increasing its business potential by further extending
its reputation for outstanding service and flexibility - whatever the
size of company.
On his appointment, Martin Street said: “The number of packaging
suppliers to the pharmaceutical industry has greatly reduced over the
last few years through mergers and acquisitions. The largest of these
suppliers are concentrating almost exclusively on multi-national
companies and service and flexibility can be overlooked when volume is
the prime concern.
”The Boxes Group is large enough to meet the needs of today’s
pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors but is still of a size to be
able to provide a first class flexible service centred on individual
customer needs.”
Martin joins Boxes Edson from M.Y.Healthcare and has more than 20
years experience in printed folded cartons, the last 14 within the
pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.
Managing Director, Phil Spencer, added: “Martin is a valuable
addition to the Boxes team and brings with him a pedigree of
successful sales to the UK healthcare markets. He is highly respected
within the industry and believes in exceptional customer service - a
concept that is embraced within The Boxes Group.”
The Boxes Group, with a turnover in excess of £50m, consists of seven
specialist companies and majors on product presentation in a wide
range of fields from innovative luxury cartons for cosmetics
manufacturers to specialist cartons for the pharmaceutical and
healthcare industries. Boxes Imaging is the reprographics arm of the
Group, providing a complete design and plate-making service. The
business operates from five sites throughout the UK and is part of
Clondalkin, the international printing and packaging products
specialist.
Clondalkin has recently acquired Frievaart Holdings BV, the holding
company of the European Packaging Holding Group. Frievaart
Holdings consists of three subsiduaries in the Netherlands which will
give a European flavour to the Boxes Group.
