Kodak Captures Three in the
Frame!
Three
of the country’s leading packaging companies together with a
creative design house have collaborated for the first time to
manufacture a distinctive cube-shaped pack to house Kodak’s range of
Advantix cameras and accessories.
The project was co-ordinated and managed by Boxes Edson, a specialist
folding carton manufacturer who have produced the Advantix gift box
for the past 3 years and have been a supplier to Kodak for the past 15
years. Boxes Edson
took the packaging concept produced by Design Activity of Bristol and
with various modifications to constructional design made it a viable
commercial proposition. Two
other companies were brought in, Plastique, manufacturers of
thermoform plastic packaging based in Tonbridge and Burall Plastec who
are based in Wisbech and are experts in plastic packaging solutions.
Plastique
provided a folding side walled vacuum forming which acted as the
skeleton for the whole concept and allowed the printed front cover,
produced by Buralls, to slide into position and lock into place. These
two elements were then enhanced by work from Boxes Edson, consisting
of an inner box, holding a range of accessories which are then locked
securely in a Silver printed outer carton.
Boxes Edson is a
division of The Boxes Group which majors on product presentation in a
wide range of fields. The business operates from five sites throughout
the UK and has two companies in The Netherlands. The Boxes Group is
part of Clondalkin, the international group of companies producing
specialist packaging and printing products.
