Boxes GH Lights Up New
Opportunities for Imperial Tobacco
Boxes GH, major producer of first class folding
cartons for big brand name manufacturers of FMCG products, is
supplying exciting packaging for the relaunch of Imperial Tobacco’s
Amphora range.
The international blue chip organisation, which has just appointed
Boxes GH as its sole folding carton supplier, is remarketing the
Amphora range following a ‘renaissance’ in pipe smoking. This has
seen Imperial Tobacco’s export sales rising rapidly in recent years
with Amphora consolidating its position as a leading international
aromatic pipe tobacco brand in almost 100 markets worldwide.
Imperial Tobacco Buyer, Monica Thomas, said: "We have enjoyed an
excellent relationship with Boxes GH for many years. Without exception
their staff give 100 per cent to servicing our account and we consider
the company one of our most professional suppliers. Their technical
support has also been invaluable in resolving some of the more complex
issues."
Boxes GH Managing Director, Phil Spencer, said: "We have been
working very closely with Imperial Tobacco to develop the packaging
and have been in consultation with the company’s engineering
department to maximise product lines and efficiencies. The aim of the
relaunch is to widen the appeal of Amphora to an even larger market
with a new background illustration to the pack, richer colours, an
evolved logo and crest and description."
The pack is a three colour carton in coated chip 480 micron board with
perforations for display purposes and is used at point of sale to hold
the pouches of tobacco. The Amphora range, which originated in
Holland, consists of Original Blend, Mellow Blend, Full Aroma (the
only one of the brand sold in the UK) and Rich Aroma. There are also
special blends - Malt Whisky, Wild Cherry, Black Cavendish and Golden
Blend.
Boxes GH has been working with Imperial Tobacco for six years. The
tobacco industry, worth some £190 billion, is one of the biggest in
the world and Imperial Tobacco, with a £5.2 billion turnover, employs
over 8,000 people in 34 countries and has 13 manufacturing sites
globally.
Boxes GH is based in Blackburn and maintains its leading position in
the industry through a corporate commitment to outstanding customer
service and a programme of continuous investment in the latest
technology and state of the art printing presses.
The Company is a division of The Boxes Group which has a turnover of
