is each aware of the individual and often unique requirements of our client base. Our
focus is on efficient systems and controlled processes ensure that our clients get the
best service and product realisation.
The achievement of flexibility, innovation, but above all responsiveness to customers
needs has been built upon a strong foundation that is our quality system. We operate to BS
EN ISO 9001:2000 and PS 9000:2001 - Pharmaceutical Packaging
Materials,
incorporating Good Manufacturing Practice consistent with the requirements of the most
exacting industry standards. Ultimately our customers can be confident that the processes
and service levels are controlled from product conception to delivery to give total
quality assurance
Operations
Our operations are conducted from a factory, purpose built in
1998 which is situated away from residential areas. The factory and warehousing area is
single story, covering 20,000 sqft with ground and first floor office accommodation
covering 3,000 sqft plus parking for 40 cars.
The company policy of continual improvement in its processes,
products and service, as well as its commitment to develop new markets and products has
played a significant part in both the growth of the company and reducing its environmental
impact.
We are committed to reduce the impact of our activities on the
environment.
It is the policy of Ditone Labels to:-
- Minimise waste and the consumption of resources (materials, fuel
and energy).
- Foster a sense of responsibility for the environment among all our
staff.
- Demonstrate our commitment to preventing pollution by reducing
polluting releases into the environment to a minimum.
- Minimise the environmental effects of raw material sourcing.
- Ensure all waste generated is disposed of responsibly or where
possible, recycled.
- Reduce the environmental effects of new developments through
strategic evaluation and planning.
- Comply with relevant environmental legislation, regulations and
other requirements.
Materials
Our paper materials are sourced from equally responsible
manufacturers who source their raw materials from mills that operate positive
reforestation programs.
Energy & Fuel
Our building was purpose built in 1998 utilising modern materials
and fabrication techniques to maximise heating and ventilation efficiency to minimise the
use of energy resources.
Product Life Cycle
We recognise that the majority of labels that we produce form
part of a packaging component and are therefore ultimately disposed of to land fill by
normal industrial or household waste collection. Where possible we work closely with
clients in the design of their packaging with the aim of combining recyclable label
materials with recyclable packaging components.
Waste
Our back door waste (mainly consisting of skeletal label waste
for both paper and synthetic materials) is compacted to reduce volume and ultimately
disposed of via licensed waste merchants.
It is our purchasing and material selection policy to optimise
the sizes of materials being used to minimise the waste that we produce.
Emissions and effluent discharges
All domestic water discharges are treated in a "Bio
Station" located on the estate and under the direct management of the landlord.
All factory effluent (consisting of water & ink washings,
etc.) are stored underground in a collection tank. Discharges to this tank are monitored
daily and the tank is emptied on a regular basis by a licensed waste merchant. This waste
is deemed to be low hazard and is taken to clay lined landfill facilities.
It is a key objective to reduce our consumption of water by
recycling this waste where possible and economically practicable.
