Ditone –
Europe’s most progressive label manufacturer and a growing division
of The Boxes Group - is pleased to announce a collaboration with
COSi (Creative Outsourcing Solutions International) to produce an
innovative new label developed from its patented Tac-Tag range for
one of COSi’s key customers.
COSi is
a leading outsource manufacturer whose multinational customer base
includes Revlon, Avon, Mary Kay and the Body Shop International.
COSi
approached Ditone for help when challenged by one of their
innovative multinational customers who wanted to launch a liquid eye
shadow in a bottle with a very long, pointed cap. COSi needed a
specially designed label that could fit around this cap.
Ditone
came up with a new design for a label that could slip over the cap
and adhere to the bottle with a tab to ensure that it would stay
secure both in transit and on the shelf and remain in a good and
dust free condition.
“We are
very pleased with the way Ditone responded to our enquiry. They
approached our problem with the creativity we have come to expect
from them to create an inspired concept that met both our product
aesthetics ease of application requirements. We are delighted,” said
Jo Price, COSi’s packaging technologist on this project.
Ditone
Labels’ national business development manager, Beryl Young, said:
“It’s a coup for Ditone to be working with COSi and to assist the
company with developing packaging for such a high-visibility branded
product. It is especially satisfying to not only to have improved
the design of this particular label but also to have made the
product easier to handle. Labelling-up time has been shortened
significantly; the new label is supplied reel-fed while the old one
had to be hand applied as a single label.”
“COSi
is very well known in the cosmetics and skin care industry and our
new relationship with them should help forge partnerships with
further leading brands,” she added.
Ditone’s new label is a special construction of gloss white
polypropylene with permanent adhesive, printed in one colour and
incorporates a special hole and adhesive area to suit the cap of the
bottle. The material features tiny slits in the top to relieve any
pressure on the label. The front carries a bar code for scanning at
the till and the reverse lists the product’s ingredients.
