Ditone, Europe's most progressive label manufacturer and a UK
award-winning company, is working with cosmetics giant Revlon on
packaging for its Charlie Christmas 2003 Gift Sets containing one of
the Charlie perfume variants and a free gift.
Revlon’s brief was for Ditone to produce a label
which looked like part of the carton and which could be peeled off
by the customer without damaging the packaging.
The two cartons produced by Revlon are Charlie Red
Pamper Gift Set, containing a 50ml Eau de Toilette with free Shower
Gel and Body Puff and the Charlie Blue Duo Gift Set, with a 15ml Eau
de Toilette and a small blue purse.
Ditone, an expanding division of The Boxes Group,
supplied five variants of a label, all circular and printed in one
colour plus varnish onto Gloss Silver Polyprop R5000. Various
silver substrate colours were trialled to achieve the required shine
level.
Ditone's National Business Development Manager, Beryl Young said: "Ditone's
reputation for world class innovative labels continues to expand and
it's a great honour to win further business with an international
cosmetics company of Revlon's stature."

Revlon's Packaging Technologist, Melanie Keen,
added: "Revlon’s Charlie Christmas Gift Sets represent an
important part of our final quarter business with over 99 per cent
sell through on all sets. Ditone’s technical expertise was ideal
in creating these innovative labels for our 2003 packs.”
Based in Cambridgeshire, Ditone has recently
installed the world's most advanced narrow web press, the first of
its kind in the UK, as part of
the Company's £2.5 million investment programme.
Ditone offers an
exceptional range of print processes and products that include
Crystal labels, Peel & Reveal labels, the Extensia multi page
leaflet label range and Braille labels to assist the visually
impaired. It is one of only a handful of companies in its sector
to achieve the highest international standard for packaging
pharmaceutical materials.
